ABOUT US
Who Are We?
Can But Tri was created in 2019 by husband and wife team Jill and Iain Dawson. The pair have an extensive background within sport from grassroots to elite level competition, coaching and event management.
Both Jill and Iain are qualified health professionals having worked for the NHS and other organisations for many years. They are therefore keen to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for everyone regardless of ability.
Iain Dawson
Iain is an ex-international tandem cyclist having competed at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics and is also a level 2 cycling coach.
He has competed in multi-sport events since 2009 winning 3 European and 6 World titles across triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon from sprint to long distance. He also broke the Ironman World record for a visually impaired athlete in 2019, competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and has completed the Norseman extreme triathlon.
Jill Dawson
Jill has previously organised events and managed large teams within Special Olympics, a sports organisation for people with learning disabilities.
She is also keen to keep fit and active herself, regularly taking on a variety of charity-based challenges including long distance walks, triathlons, swimathon and obstacle races.
Volunteers
We are lucky to have an amazing team of volunteers without whom we could not deliver our events. Find out more about volunteering with Can But Tri here.
